Detailed steps to jailbreak iOS on Windows.

# Make a USB flash drive for Ubuntu

Step 1. Insert a USB flash drive.

Step 2. Download and run the Rufus executable (no installation required). Once the application is downloaded, it is ready to use.

Step 3. Click on the Select button and locate the Ubuntu icon you downloaded. Once selected, you will see the "ubuntu-20.04.1-desktop-amd64.iso" file in the boot menu. Leave the other options as default and click "Start".

Step 4 Rufus will display a warning that all data on the live USB will be destroyed. If necessary, back up the USB files and click "OK". when the ISOHybrid image is detected, select the recommended option and click "OK".

Wait for 2-3 minutes for Rufus to create the Ubuntu USB drive.

When the process is complete, click "Close".

NOTE

If the Ubuntu drive is not detected, please reconnect it after the Ubuntu drive is created.

# Start Ubuntu in Windows

Step 5: Select "Windows" -> "Restart" to reboot your computer.

After the computer boots, press the F12 key combination before the OS loads. This is my Dell computer.

Warning.

For most computer brands, the BIOS boot key combination is F12. If F12 does not work, you will need to find the correct key for your brand.

The computer's BIOS control window will appear; in the BIOS window, you need to select the Ubuntu USB drive that you just created. Use the arrow keys on your keyboard to select the correct choice and press "Enter".

In step 6, you can see that the Ubuntu system is loaded, as shown in the image below. All Ubuntu file system checks are in progress.

Select the first option "*Ubuntu" to boot the Ubuntu operating system of your choice.

Step 7: Once booting is complete, select "Try Ubuntu" to boot from the Ubuntu flash drive.

Now that you are in Ubuntu, get your iPhone/iPad/iPod touch connected to your computer and it will appear on your desktop.

# Jailbreak your iOS device

Step 8: Find the jailbreak tool file "checkra1n-x86_64" that you downloaded earlier. If you did not download the file before restarting your computer, you can download it from your browser. To open the Checkra1n jailbreak tool, you need to use Terminal.

Open the terminal and enter the codes one by one (you can also just copy the codes in quotes).

1. Type "chmod +x" (with a space before the plus sign and a space after x), drag the file "checkra1n-x86_64" into the terminal window and press "Enter".

Type "sudo" (there is a space after sudo), drag the file "checkra1n-x86_64" into the terminal window again, and press "Enter".

Caution

If you can't drag the checkra1n file into the terminal window, you can copy and paste it to your desktop. Right click on the file, select "View as file" and drag it again.

If the code was entered correctly in the previous step, Checkra1n will run and display a screen similar to the following.

#What should I do if Checkra1n's "Start" button is grayed out?

If your device is running an untested version of Checkra1n (specifically iOS 13.5.1 and 14.5), Checkra1n's "Start" button will be grayed out. Click on "Options" and select "Untested".
